Greetings to Archivists, Records Practitioners, Esteemed Guests and Colleagues On behalf of the Oral History Association of South Africa (OHASA) under the leadership of President Sipho Zulu, it gives me a great pleasure to extend our heartfelt message of support to the South African Society of Archivists.
As a fellow custodian of memory, we recognise and deeply value the vital work you do in preserving our country’s rich history and complex documentary heritage. Your dedication to upholding professional standards and advancing the archival field is not only admirable but essential to our nation, your work remains invaluable to the safeguarding of South Africa’s diverse histories.
In a time when information integrity and historical truths are more critical than ever, your efforts ensures that the past is not only remembered but made accessible for the future generations. It is through your continuous efforts where archivists and records practitioners find a second home and there is no any other home for archivist, indeed SASA is a home.
Our shared purpose stem from critical oral histories narratives that looms to find home in archives repositories, it is on that note we alert you about the OHASA upcoming conference on the 7 to 10 October 2025, at Limpopo Province, the envisage venue is Protea Hotel Polokwane Ranch Resort.
We commend SASA for its continued commitment to excellence, professional development, and the promotion of archival practices. May your work continue to inspire, educate, and empower.
